Fundraising Activity Badge

To achieve the Fundraising Activity Badge, you should complete the following:

  1. Identify and organise a fundraising initative for either the Scout Association, your Explorer Scout Unit, or another UK registered charity
  2. Find a compelling message to communicate to donors of your chosen cause
  3. Use social media to promote your fundraising initative
  4. Set a fundraising target, £500 as a minimum, and a date to raise it by
  5. Call upon others to help you and form a fundraising team
  6. Prepare a short presentation about your challenge and submit it to members of your Explorer Scout Leader or District Executive Committee

The presentation that you deliver should cover the following aspects of the fundraising challenge:

  • The cost of the challenge verses the amount that will be raised
  • How you have used social media and reached outside of your own immediate friends and family network for support
  • Three tips that you would give to other fundraisers
